Every year as Thanksgiving gets closer, you’ve probably seen the depressing reports: “Most people gain between 5 and 10 pounds of body fat in the six weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas.” I’m not sure if this worries you or not, but a lot of people are terrified about getting fatter in the next two months. They anticipate the workouts falling by the wayside and the holiday food calling out to them irresistibly, defeating even the strongest willpower. There’s good news and bad news about this.
Good news: According to the New England Journal of Medicine, the average amount gained is much more modest – just over a pound.
Bad news: A study by the National Institutes of Health found that this seasonal weight gain – even just a pound – is the kind of weight gain that most people don’t lose when the holidays are over; it simply adds to the “weight creep” that “sneaks up” on you as you get older.
People often wonder how it’s possible to wake up one morning at age 40 or 45 and “suddenly” they’re 30 pounds fatter – or more – than they were in college. Mystery solved.
Of course, some people really do pack it on over the holidays, but whether its a pound or ten pounds, did you ever ask yourself why does holiday weight gain happen at all?
In previous years, I’ve asked my readers and here are some common answers I was given:
Holiday Excuse Survey Says…
“I’m too busy over the holidays to work out as often as usual.”
“I’m more stressed over the holidays, and the food is there, so I eat more.”
“I have at least three parties to attend and then there’s Christmas and New Year’s, so it’s impossible to stay on a diet”
“No one can tell me not to enjoy myself over the holidays so I’m just going to eat whatever I want.”
These answers all have a few things in common:
“Either/Or” Thinking and “Reverse Goal Setting” Exposed
First, they assume that you can EITHER get in better shape OR enjoy yourself, but not both. Stated in reverse: You can either deprive yourself of holiday enjoyments or gain weight, but it has to be one or the other. The truth is, “either/or thinking” is neurotic thinking and a great killer of fitness programs.
Second, these are all excuses or rationalizations. “I’m too busy” for example, is always an excuse, because I have never known someone who was too busy to make time for his her highest life priorities. We all have the same amount of time – 24 hours a day – the real problem is, most people don’t make exercise and healthy eating a priority. And remember, words mean little. Actions reveal a person’s true priorities.
Third, none of these are the real reasons most people gain weight over the holidays to begin with. The real reason is because an intention was never set for the opposite: To get in better shape over the holidays.
Most people set a “goal” to get in worse shape over the holidays. It’s not consciously set, of course, as few people would intentionally set out to get fatter. They simply do it by default. In their minds, they accept that it must be just about impossible to stay in shape with everything going on over the holiday season, so why bother?
Rationing Lies For Holiday Failure
Once the decision has been made, then the rationalizing continues:
“Why should I deprive myself?”
“Family is more important”
“Worrying about diet and exercise during the holidays is neurotic”
“I don’t care if I gain a few pounds, I’m going to enjoy myself anyway”
“It’s only these two or three weeks that I let myself go wild”
“I’ll start the first week in January and lose the weight then.”
As a result of this “negative goal-setting,” they expect to work out less, eat more and gain a few pounds, and they don’t seem to even consider alternatives.
But what would happen if you…
SET A GOAL TO GET IN BETTER shape over the holidays?
What would happen if you decided that it was not an all or nothing proposition and that you could enjoy the holidays and all it has to offer and get in better shape at the same time?
And what if you decided that your health and your body were the highest priorities in your life, because you realized that can’t enjoy anything else in life, including family or holidays, if you don’t have your health?
Here’s what would happen: You’d get in better shape!
I’m not all that different from you just because I’m a bodybuilder and fitness professional. I have many of the same problems, concerns and struggles as you do. Although today I always get in better shape between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, that’s a result of a conscious choice, a close examination of my old belief systems and a lot of action. For me, it all started about eight years ago.
For most of my adult life, I wasn’t much of a traveler and I didn’t enjoy flying or staying in hotels. For one thing, I had so many business commitments in the East Coast health club business, that I seldom left town for long, as I had to “tend to the stores.” But I also had a belief that if I traveled, my workouts and nutrition would suffer. After all, “it would be hard to stick with my usual bodybuilding diet, and I wouldn’t have access to my usual gyms”, I told myself. For these reasons, I never did much travel..
Then I was forced to take some trips for business reasons. Predictably enough, my nutrition and workouts suffered while I was spending time in airplanes and in hotels. With my experience having confirmed my beliefs, I re-affirmed to myself, “See, travelling is nothing but a pain. You just can’t stay on a diet and training program when you’re out of town.”
After several more trips, I noticed that something very negative happened: I surrendered. I had resigned myself to “not bother” while I was on the road. I let my expectations create my reality.
But I didn’t let it go on for long. As soon as I became aware of what was happening, I decided that I wouldn’t tolerate it, so I challenged myself and my previous limiting beliefs. I asked myself, “Why the heck not? Why let myself backslide? Why even settle for maintaining? Why not challenge myself to improve while I’m traveling?” The answer was: There was no good reason, there were only excuses.
From that day forward, I set a challenge for myself…
To come back from every trip or vacation in better shape than when I left.
Of course there were exceptions, as when I went on a vacation for total R & R. But I never let travel get in my way again. I prepared food that I would eat on the planes so airline food was never an excuse… I usually chose hotels that had kitchens, so I could cook my own food. I went food shopping immediately after check-in. I wrote my training schedule and scouted gyms in advance… And I actually found myself training harder than usual.
No matter where I was training – it could even be some “dungeon” of a gym in the middle of nowhere – it didn’t matter because my mind was focused on improving and looking better when I came home than when I left. I had a goal to motivate me!
What do you think happened? It’s not hard to guess: I always came home in better shape than when I left.
Since then, my “travel challenge” has become somewhat of a ritual in my life. When I’m away from my “home-base” it becomes a “fitness road trip.” I search the Internet or yellow pages or ask locals to help me find the most hard-core gym nearby wherever I will be staying (Gold’s Gym works for me!) When I get there, I train every bit as hard as
if I had a competition just weeks away. I look forward to it now. In fact, this is what led me to my “holiday fitness challenge” idea.
Like many people, I travel over the holidays, so I’m automatically in “travel challenge” mode at thanksgiving, Christmastime and New Year’s. But with the additional temptations and busyness that the holidays bring on top of the usual travel stresses, I saw fit to declare a new challenge: “The Holiday Challenge.” The difference was that for my “holiday challenge,” I pledged to not only to return home in better shape than when I left, but to enjoy the holidays to the fullest at the same time.
People who think I deprive myself to look the way I do would be shocked: I eat like a KING over the holidays including Pumpkin (or apple) Pie at Thanksgiving and OF COURSE my mom’s famous red and green Jell-O Christmas cake. Then on New Year’s I’m usually toasting champagne and having a blast with friends or family….
The difference is, I don’t eat like that very often.
Every other meal stays right on schedule and I work out hard and consistently over the holidays; I don’t let everything fall apart just because ’tis the season.’
<b.The idea that you can EITHER enjoy the holidays OR stay in shape – but not both – is wrong, it’s damaging and it’s limiting.</font
Life is not an either or proposition; it’s a matter of balance.
Success does not mean going to extremes. Success can be a simple matter of re-examining your beliefs, rearranging your priorities, setting goals, changing the questions you ask yourself and re-evaluating your expectations.
Your expectations will become your reality. What are you expecting? Are you expecting success? Are you expecting to be in better shape after holiday parties, celebrations, banquets, dinners, and desserts? If not, then why not? What’s preventing you from enjoying all of the above and still getting in better shape? Do you have a limiting belief which dictates that it’s one or the other? Could it be that you never set a goal, intention or expectation to do it? Could it be that you’re rationalizing or making excuses? If so, then I challenge you to change it this year.
As of this writing, there are seven weeks until the end of the year. Why not see how much you can improve your physique over the holidays, without depriving yourself of any holiday enjoyments or festivities? Just step up your expectations. Step up your standards. Step up your nutrition. Step up your training. Step up your action. Step up and accept the “Burn The Fat holiday fitness challenge” see what happens!
That’s right…

PS. Most people wait until New Year’s to put any concerted effort into improving their body and their health. You may be now starting to realize that THIS is the best time of the year to decide, set some goals and commit to achieving them. Even if you decide not to formally enter the official Burn The Fat contest when registration opens next week, will you accept the challenge?
Great post, Tom! At last, a sensible approach to the holidays. I’m so sick of hearing people all around me saying that they are planning to ‘let loose’ over the holidays, or that they’re putting in extra effort now so that they can binge in December (and many of these people are fitness professionals too).Don’t get me wrong, I love my holiday food, and my mum’s potato salad and ham is to die for, but even as children our parents taught us that on the big feast days we had to do something active to balance out all the splurging. We’d go for a long walk as a family after the big meal, and between Christmas and New Year we would wrap up warm and go out and do outdoorsy things. I’ve always thought of that Christmas mid-afternoon ‘down time’ as ‘3 mile walk time’!But even better than my parents’ concept of balance (essentially maintenance if you’re thinking in those terms), I love the idea of actually planning to get in better shape over the holidays, and I’m in!
i am with you all the way on this one Tom. I actually wrote down some new challenges in my training/eating diary yesterday, and gave the date to aim for as New Years Day. I will feel wonderful if I reach the goals I have set myself and it will be a big step forward towards competing next year and looking better than ever before. I have already bought some amazing party clothes to wear over the festive season, and I know full well they will still fit me when we move into mid december. So many people put on weight at this time because they stop trying. They have the binge times of Christmas and New year coming up and think it is pointless working out or dieting during the run up to the holidays.I get a lot of flack for not stuffing myself silly, eating loads of crap or ”enjoying myself ” over christmas and new year. I have a severe allergy to wheat which stops me eating most party foods, cake, biscuits etc are out of the question for me, and buffet caterers are unlikely to provide a lot of wheat free options. I am also a non drinker, but usually offer to drive for other people so I don’t get a load of hassle when I stick to low cal soft drinks, or even water.I use the wide variety of food available in the shops to my advantage, and stock up with fresh salmon and shellfish, good protein like turkey, grass fed veal , fresh nuts and other delights that are both cheap and plentiful at this time. I will have a few treats, but they will only be treats, not full time gorging just because they are available. I go power walking in the fresh air on the mountain nearby, it is refreshing and invigorating and really blows the cobwebs away. Its also a great way to escape the relatives who are too full to move!
Thank you, Tom! Once again it’s a very inspirational piece of writing! :)
I couldn’t agree more. Infact, to keep up and build on healthy habits through this season I started a challenge in the BFFM team on Spearkpeople called “Tough to the End of 2009” where about 20 of us will compeate and support each other with our goals. I’m going to be following the “50 day burn” as well! It will be the perfect compliment to what I’m working on as we close out this year!!!
mindy, if youre doing a sparkpeople challenge, spread the word over there, all BFFM owners are automatically eligible and no reason not to double up and do TWO challenges. Im sure it will “spark” more interest when we post the details and prize packages. Cheers!tom
What a GREAT idea! I’m in!Larry
YES! I accept the challenge… how do I get started?
I LOVE IT! I accept and Im going to tear it up this year and I will enjoy that thankgiving dinner with my family and a christmas dinner and some fun on New Years, but I’ll be vigilant about my training and about hitting it even harder! Thanks Sir!Dave
Hi TomYou doing quite a great job for guys like meYour timely update on physical fitness and proper dieting has opened my eyes real good as i have now become more than ever before disciplined to get unsual result.2 months of fitness exercising now really makes me feel good and i wish to contineue with more intensity for better results, right through holidaysI have loss a considerate mass of fat and ask for your permission to post my pictures to you after 6 months to show how grateful i am for your pofessional advice and mentoring
Yeah, how do I get started???
yes plz let us know abt it soon
I just read the info on the 50 day holiday challenge. Where can I get more specifics?
I’ll be getting married in July 2010. This will be my first marriage at the tender age of forty something. Planning a small celebration party with family and friends. I’ve already purchased the wedding dress. A coworker asked me if Ill be able to fit into my dress come July. Oh, maybe – yes!I’m planning on fitting into my dress while eating my wedding cake by July. I may not be at the same level with you Tom but I’m with you. HOOHA!
Wonderful!! I’m so excited about this challenge! I had been dreading the holidays with a passion. I have a problem with extremes. I’ll be super strict with myself for a while, but then when an unplanned, chance encounter with free food or an invitation to dinner springs up, i just toss everything out the window and binge. I’ve been dreading going home over the holidays where there will be tons of yummy food just lying around, waiting to be eaten, and I would feel like a bum not enjoying the bounty with my family. I’ve been fighting the “resigned” attitude of just letting go and eating whatever my tastebuds want over the holidays, but its been hard. Now I have a PLAN and a CHALLENGE and I know I WILL come out of the holiday season weighing less and more lean than when they started. I can’t wait to sign up! Thanks a bunch Tom.
Thanks TomI agree 100 % one thing I like to do is plan an event “ie a Triathalon on 10 k” for early January this forces me to stay focused on my diet and training. Yes I can pig out a little on Thanksgiving but Friday I am right back at it and I will pass on the the day to day holiday goodies that pop up around this time of year, one Christmas cookie won’t derail you but 2-3 everyday will have you looking like St. Nick. Tom thanks again for your New Years predictions, I still look at mine everyday and have kept 25 lbs off for 21 years
I’m very excited about this challenge and I’m definately in! I was about 305 lbs. a year ago and have been learning AND incorporating all the great info in bffm since March of this year. I’m now a little over 260 lbs. and have a goal to be at 245 lbs. by the end of the year and another 2% body fat less. I’m going to the Olympics in Vancouver in Feb. 2010 (I’m fortunate to live in the Seattle area) and I’m currently “in training for the Olympics”. Of course I’m just going as a spectator, but I’m going to participate fully as well in the whole experience with my leaner, better feeling, more enegtic body! I plan to come back from that experience leaner too! Thanks again Tom for all your inspiration and support!
Yes tom (tease), please do tell… how to we get started?
I will post all the official Burn The Fat Holiday challenge contest rules (and PRIZES!) in the next blog post and also email it to e-zine subscribers. Registration will open within the next week (“contest central” will be a new forum at the http://www.burnthefatinnercircle.com open to all registered contestants. ANYONE who already owns Burn The Fat, Feed The muscle program or is a current inner circle member is already eligible to register with no other purchase required!Good luck with your challenge everyone!
Thank you Tom!I was that person you described. I let loose and thought,’ I could never change my weight this time of the year anyway. ‘So I ate. Then hated that I was getting farther away from where I needed to be.I AM 100% responsible for me. I am now in control, 100%. I needed someone to tell me that.Thank you again.I look forward to your emails.Kind regards,Isabel
I’m in! I even have a break from the graduate classes im taking to really focus and turn up intensity a few notches! Thank you as always for inspiration!
Thank you for your article. You write as your speaking directly to a friend giving caring advice. I have in past made excuses and now for last two weeks been changing eating habits as well as forcing myself to go~searching for reasons to go to gym rather then reasons not to. My heals are blisteredAnd I just got over being ill but for once….it didn’t create an excuse for me to stay home but rather a chalenge within myself to not accept the weakness and continue through. After 20 minutes of cardio I’m thinking of every possible reason lol trust me to get off but at the end of the hour, I’m proud and that keeps me going! Its easy to skip a day but its harder to catch up on one missed! Please keep up the emails and any tasty holiday treats, dishes etc that comes to mind! So ya the challenge?? Bring it! :)
I got in better shape over the holliday season once. I want to do it again. Last time it was our fitness instructor in the gym. He just said: “I am going to lose fat during this holliday season!” And I replied in my mind: “Me too!” This instructor is gone now and I gues I need somebody to motivate me. Thank you Tom. I am in!
Thanks Tom!I have seen so much progress already in 2009, I would be really silly to throw it all away because of such a short-sighted mindset! You really inspire me to improve myself.
I love the 3 mile walk idea. I am doing it. I use to go for a walk on Thanksgiving with my nephew. I am going for that again (probably not 3 miles; my goal is to get my daughter to come with me). Same thing for the day before, we’re going to walk farther to the subway after school. I want to do the challenge too.
Great idea Tom.People usually don’t think about these things until much closer to Christmas and New Years and by then the damage is done. I like the idea of thinking about this now with Thanksgiving just around the corner. The 3 mile walk idea is great except I like making it a little more challenging by hiking instead.Looking forward to the updates through out the 50-Day challenge…Mike
I am going to do this!I will be accountable!I will be in great shape BEFORE Jan 1st :-)Thanks Tom
I think this is exactly what i need. I am definitely in!
Tom RULES… I’m in =)
I’m in.. Thanksgiving is over for us Canadians but the attitude is the same.. Not this year!
Fabulous post & just in time, I was already getting down about how to get through the holidays without trashing my program & hurting family & friends feeling when I don’t eat everything they do! This is exactly what sets your program apart from all others, you care! You’re right there with motivational posts to get us through. Thanks, Tom, I’m in for the challenge!
I’m in and dragging my girl friend with me :) well maybe not dragging.
Tom-At 57 yrs I am taking responsibility for my health and addressing the weight gain of the past decade. There are are million reasons why but the bottom line is I am the only one who can make the changes. The past 6 weesks I have removed 15 lbs and working on another 30. The diet is good but I am challenged getting enough and the right kind of excercise. Any day I do the scale shows it.I accept the challenge and look forward to a healthy 2010.Paula
I’m in. I’ve slacked off a bit since early October and this is exactly what is needed to prevent any further slacking! Looking forward to the Holidays and a slightly slimmer, firmer body by 2010!
I am in
Ohhhh Yesss, I’m in!
I’m going to take the challenge. I’ve always gained weight over the holidays. This year I’m going to challenge myself to be in better shape after the holidays. Count me in.
I’m in too…
I’m in.thanks Tom!
You can count me in, Tom. You hit the nail on the head throughout your message. It all comes down to CHOICE and PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY, and RESPONSIBILITY.Health to you,JillBest to all!!!
This is always the most challenging time of the year for me to stay on track. I’ve challenged myself this year not to let the holiday season get the better of me but I can use all the help I can get. Count me in!!
I am in.
I was one of those, “why bother…” kind of people. This year it’s “WHY NOT!”I will still have the responsibilities of the kids (8), pets (4), home-making, cooking, shopping for gifts, get-togethers, and all the clean up!! But this year I am going to accept your challenge, then set MY schedule and with what ever time is left over I will add in the rest of the holiday events.Eating right and exercising will help me to get through it all instead of getting too tired half way through our marathon days.
My husband and I are both in! We love this, it is just the right time and approach! Thanks,Sandy and Rich
I’m in. Can’t wait for more details.
I will join this challenge ;)
Why not? I’m in.
Great article! That’s exactly how I got started four years ago! I started the day after my birthday (Nov. 15) and lost 24 pounds by New Year’s Eve and then the rest of it by the following June for a total of 65. I didn’t care the holidays were coming up, I simpy was not going back to outgrowing my 38 inch pants, I can now fit in 31 inch pants. I plan to stay there for a good while. Thanks for the reminder and the article. Keep up the hard work telling it like it is!
Tom – I have great confidence in you. You are trustable. I’m definitely willing to join the challenge, and now is the perfect time!
In my family, the holidays are all about food. Every year we stuff ourselves full and sit around. But I won’t be binging or dumping my exercise routine this year….Why??? Because I’ve finally gotten it through my incredibly stubborn head that binging and not exercising makes me feel like CRAP! So I will be eating well and exercising….not to try to shed any weight… but to feel good!
Your blog re: Holiday Fitness challenge was so timely! I am going through the mental angst of facing down the holidays with a few extra pounds on after working so hard to lose 60 lbs over the last couple of years. I decided that I am going to be sure to step it up a notch at the gym and on my plate going into the holidays and then I received your blog today. I can’t thank you enough as this just may be the support I need to stay true to my goal. Thank you so much!!!
I’m definitely in, I’m hoping to reach my goal by spring so I can’t afford to slack off during the holidays. This program is the first one that I actually feel 100% confident about the results I plan to get.
Awesome article. I have subscribed to the “all or nothing” mentality of healthy eating and exercise and it doesn’t work. Tom is right- balance is key.
I’m in! I already had a personal goal to lose 10 more pounds by the end of the year. This will help me keep focused!
What a great blog. It is funny that you should bring up this challenge, since I have started exercising and eating right again this week. We had a rude awakening this past Monday, my brother in law had a heart attack at the age of 57. He is recovering. I am seriously obese and my husband needs to lose a few pounds also. We have decided to eat healthy and exercise. This is the first time that I feel confident that we will succeed. We have been together for over 16 years and this is the first time that we have discussed changing our eating and exercising habits. I think this will bring us even closer doing it together. Small steps to big success, that is my moto. I will be signing up for the challenge. Thanks Tom!!!!!Jackie
Great timing !! Bring it on !
SWEET!! Many excellent quotes, as well. I’m making a decision not to let guilt sway me into eating anything, or let my heavy sister’s glares stop me from my goals.
For me I had to apply the school of thought of balance through out my life for me to finally see what it really was about. I am really looking forward to the holidays because my husband is finally seeing the key to balance and will be backing it up with actions over the holiday. Our local gym that we belong to is having a contest starting Monday (can’t remember when it is ending) but the theme is to maintain your weight during the holidays. My hubby and I are planning on winning it.
I can hardly wait to get the message about the challenge….I am going to post updates on my facebook page to spread the word…and update photos to show the evidence that it works…
Tom,Great idea!I have been on your BFFM program for a couple of months now. My husband was asking about Thanksgiving and if I would be making cranberry turkey, mashed potatoes and apple pie. He said ‘no diet will work for long if you have to give up to much’…I understand his point. BFFM is not a diet for me .. it is a lifestyle change along with my exercise program. The change is something that I am not only determine to live with but one that I WANT to live with.I don’t believe that a slice of apple pie means that I am throwing in the towel on everything… It just means that I understand how the apple pie will affect my fat loss goals and that I need to include this in my PLAN for success.I am enthusiastically, whole heartedly, in for the challenge.BTW I just bought a pair of jeans one size smaller. I plan on them not fitting after the holidays… They will be too big.
I made a bet with a friend 6 weeks ago to reach a tough weight goal be new years. These past 3 weeks I fell WAY off course and gained weight! With three weeks of setbacks and the holidays coming up, I had all but given up on my goal… that is until I read this motivating challenge. Whether I reach my goal or not, I am not gonna let anything, including any past diet debacles or upcoming obstacles, stand in my way of getting leaner.Game on Tom!
Thanks Tom, another timely post! I am so excited about this challenge. After competing in my first triathlon this summer, I felt such a “workout letdown.” I’ve been looking for something to work towards and now I have it. No more excuses!Jane
I am so sick of people with the excuses.I simply dropped them off my FB, and life.I am so excited about my results since reading your book, and Richie gave me a plan, that nothing could possibly take me off my track.Pumpkin pie is my only weakness. Thanks for the articles.Keep em coming!
THANK YOU SOO much for this article! I had cartilage surgery 2 months ago and gained a few pounds (still do weights and elliptical but carido is still not as intense as I like) and instead of looking forward to the holidays I was dreading it! I’m looking forward to this challenge!!!!
I’m in Tom!
I will accept the challenge, for my own personal motivation and self-improvement.I’ve put on 1lb per month for the past year. I know, I know….so this challenge will give me the motivation I need to get back on track and the body fat down again.Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks Tom for the offer. I actually had started my own 10 week challenge (finishing wk 4), but had lost focus in the last few day. I am glad for the renewed challenge. How do we get started?
Count me in, Tom!
This is a win win situation for all of us… Please count me in.
Great, count me in!
I’m in! My wedding is coming up on December 19th (2009) so I want to get in good shape anyway! I want to look smokin’ in my wedding dress and still enjoy some wedding cake and pumpkin pie!

Perfect timing! I have begun to live a healthier life as I realize that there is so much more to living than sitting and watching life go by. I’m joining the living train and using the challenge and BFFM to do that. I can’t wait to get started on the Challenge to jumpstart my life train!
Fantastic- am in and eager to get underway YIPEEEEEE for sensible approachesGood luck to everyoneAlex

Hi Tom, if the rest of the world is in I want to be in tooPatrizia
i’m so in!!!
Put me in! I know I can do well wiht this!
I am in!!!! Been working hard to train for police academy… can’t let it slip now because that will likely start right after the holidays and I need to be able to excel at the PT everyday!
Hi Tom,Thanks for the motivation to keep the weight off for the Holidays! With the help of BFFM, I was able to loose 15 pounds and get down to 8% body fat for a show in April ’09! I can’t thank you enough! While 8% was too low, I put 5 pounds back on a few months ago and and have been back up to a healthy body fat and still am happy with the way I look while working out and eating & and healthy. I will always be a follower of your eating plan!I would love to enter the contest with you all, but don’t think I’m allowed since it’s since I reached my goal back in April of ’09, unless Tom tells me I can enter by submitting my before and after pics (and current and not to mention, an “after the holidays” picture), I wish you all the best of luck!! Tom’s plan is a no brainer and will work! It’s a way of eating for life while still allowing yourself an occasional treat!Happy Holidays!Thank you again!Becky
Genious! I’m in, thank you Tom!

That means: someone who has already “BURNED THE FAT” but who wants to make further body comp improvements by gaining muscle and proving that great improvements can be made over the holidays can certainly enter! This is a body and mind transformation contest, (judging on photos/appearance, body composition/weight, and mindset/essay), not a “Weight loss’ contest per se.More details coming soon!
I think this is my year – I’m still in the throes of battling back from Stage III adrenal fatigue and leaky gut syndrome, but have started working out again (not pushing the red in terms of heart rate), but have managed to drop just over 21 lbs in the past two and a bit months. Goal is to PR a half Ironman Triathlon I’m doing next August, and have been eating clean, organic food for the last six months, so I’m really excited about what 2010 has in store!!!
I’m in! Can’t wait to get started!!!!!!!
I am in! So excited, was hoping you would some day have something like this! Thank you!
This is intriguing. It was last year’s holiday challenge email from you Tom inspired me to get a personal trainer, and set goals that were body composition based, not weight based. I’ve stuck with it, going from 27% BF @ 143lbs on Dec 10, 08 to 18% BF @ 139 lbs on Oct 21, 09. And I’m losing my motivation and satisfaction. This looks to be the just-in-time match to rekindle the fire.
I’m in and totally excited! I’m definately ready to make a change. No sense in putting it off and putting it on to wait for January 1st. Count me in!
Tom,I’m in – I had just been thinking yesterday about seeing how “great I can look” by New Years Day so your email came at just the right time! Thanks for all your great info and motivation!
Sounds good! I’m in!
Count me in!!!
I’m in!! I am 5’3″, 42 year old female who has used your program to go from 185 lbs down to 135lbs…..and from 33% BF to 18% BF. This is the PERFECT challenge at the PERFECT time because I am planning on entering a bikini contest in April 2010…..Count me in!!!
PERFECT TIMING!! Just started reading your book….. now I wish I knew speed reading. :) Count me in!
I am in
I’m so in! And so excited! I just bought the BFFM book last week and was planning on starting the program next week anyway…so now I have an extra incentive. I love good ol’ competition, so this is really a motivator. Plus, now I have a good excuse for family and friends who think I’m weird for eating healthily during the holidays – I’ll just tell them I’m entering a fitness contest and they should understand. It also helps to have this forum and read about others who are taking on the challenge – it’s good to know that I won’t be the only “weird” person who has (and implements) an eating and exercising PLAN that actually WORKS. Thanks, Tom!
Definately!!I’m already on a 12 week challenge that I decided to have run over the silly season for that very reason – to get in better shape than ever and not have ‘life’ get in the way of my health and fitness. From now on I’ll be in control of the holiday season (and all others in the future) instead of them being in control of me.So count me in! Thanks Tom :)
Hey Tom, is that a traditional King’s Cake New Orleans style? We used to make those for New Year’s Eve when we were kids. I would love to accept your challenge. Thanks so much for everything you do! You are my internet personal trainer and motivation coach.Chriss Thompson
SOUND GREAT TOM, I AM IN. THANKS
Chriss — the cake is a “jell-o ™ rainbow christmas poke cake” and let me tell you, it is DEEEEEEE-Lish!
Tom, this is perfect timing, I’ve become somewhat bored with my routine and I know that is dangerous, this could be the change I need, can’t wait.
I’m in for the challenge! Last October I entered my first figure competition, but then had a set back in November when I had a life threatening viral infection attack my heart causing ventricular tachycardia. Although this was a scary thing to go through, the timing was perfect since I was in the best shape of my life. My doctors said that being in great shape probably helped to save my life as my heart was able to withstand the stress whereas most people’s would not have been able to take it. So, due to the recovery process and meds, I had to back off for a while on the heavy training. Now I am ready to get back into the best shape of my life and looking forward to it. I am ready to start – the sooner the better!
Sure! I’m needing some inspiration.
I would love to enter the contest please let me know more about it!Thanks!
Yes! Count me in…
May the person who plans their holidays the most efficiently for maximum enjoyment and maximum physique progression win. I’m in Tom! I love it.
Thanks for helping me keep my focus. Fortunately, I’m preparing for a race in February which will demand my attention just when the opportunities to get distracted become the most intense.I look forward to your reminders and encouragement in my e-mail. Thanks
Burn The Fat Fitness Contest — I’m in;
I’m in!
Thanks for the inspiration. I have been traveling for the past couple weeks and am sure to have gained several pounds. Most of my days have been spend in a desert climbing mountains, running (6+ mi) several days each week and walking miles along the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea. So why do I believe I have gained weight? Dehydration. I can’t get enough water so I have been eating double portions of food – not because I am hungry, but because I am thirsty. I will check my final weight when I get home in a couple days.Count me IN for the holiday challenge.
Excellent idea!! Let’s GO!
Tom! I’m in!
Just in time! I am in Tom!!
Cool. I’m there. Can’t wait to start. It’s long overdue
I accept the challenge! This is just what I need to make it through the holidays “safely”. :)
I’m up for a challenge! I bought your ebook BFFM several years ago but wasn’t mentally ready to do anything til this year!! Now I’m determined and your way of eating WORKS. I have lost 48lbs since May and continue to lose about a 1lb or so weekly. I work out 5-6 times a week both cardio and weight training with a trainer! Thank you for a realistic approach for weight loss/control and one that really works!! My whole life is changing for the better because of the choices I’ve made!!
Wow how fun this will be a challenge especially around chrissy I except ur challenge tom :0)
Well, I have a broken wrist but i will give it my best shot. Your inspiration is just what the doctor ordered…………..bring it on!!
I. Am. In.Bring it on!
YESSSSS! BRING IT ON!! Who ELSE is IN?
I’m in! =)
I am definitely in on this challenge! I need to lose weight rather than gain during the holidays if I ever want to reach my goal weight of 185! Great idea! I also just got done with 21 days of repeating the affirmations and am hooked to the concepts of BFFM!
Oh yes….totally in am I! Great posting, and thank you for it. This has been a great fall for getting in shape and I am all for keeping the heat turned up! At 52 I am in the best shape I have been for most (or all) of my adult life. No plans here to lose momentum through the holidays. Can’t wait to hear more!
Tomi need this.looking foward to starting.Phil
Hey, sounds great, count me in!!!
Awesome timing Tom. I was just transferred at my job a few weeks back. It doubled my commute. My wife and I were just talking on our way home from dinner (I know, I know) when I commented on how my eating since that change has been terrible and I’ve even struggled to get my workouts in. This is very atypical of me, as pointed out by my wife. I feel exactly like you mention that I just accepted that this was the new norm, continuing to rationalize why I was doing it and why it was acceptable to do it. I need to right this ship and I don’t want to wait until after the New Year to do it. I’ve made incredible progress since the beginning of the year and don’t want to undo it in the next 7 weeks. I’m definitely in.
This is absolutely right on! One year the holidays fell when I was in the midst of losing the 45 pounds I lost. Family members and friends knew I’d been working on losing weight and they didn’t understand how I could eat pumpkin pie and all the other trimmings for the holidays. And I just told them: “It’s ONE meal today. A cheat meal once a week can be good for you.”I think as people get to the weight and shape they want to be in, they really have to be prepared for how to deal with things like the holidays. It’s the difference between who maintains weight loss and who doesn’t. You can’t live on a permanent diet. At some point you have to realize that there are going to be events where you’re going to be celebrating with friends and you’re going to eat cake. But if eating cake triggers this downhill emo spiral of “Oh god, I ate cake, I’m doomed, it’s over” then you’re just going to put the weight right back on. The reason I didn’t was because I kept it in perspective and enjoyed in moderation.
I’m in. Perfect timing as well – the perfect gift for the Holidays. Look forward to info about the start!
I’m in. Actually did it last year as well(for my own motivation) . I love getting back and having a chuckle people who come back complaining how much weight they gained and how used all the excuses you mention i your post.
Hi Tom,Thanks for this great opportunity! Just yesturday I decided to set my own target to reach for December 20th but this challenge is exactly what I need to give me that extra incentive. I want to look like Halle Berry by the end of this challenge, how do I get started?
Hi Tom,I’m choosing to step up to the challenge. I’ve had your book now for about 2 years and didn’t really start reading until this year. I believe I haven’t completed it because then I’d know exactly what to do and wouldn’t have any excuses for getting the weight off. I’ve finally gotten myself to where working out is pretty much a habit for me but still haven’t fully committed to eating right. I like no love my beer and still won’t stay away from the sweets. Especially chocolate. When I graduated from high school I was a solid 155lbs, now at 46 years old I’m 220lbs. I almost want to cry saying that. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of making excuses for why I can’t get back in shape. I recently found out that I have gained 11lbs of lean mass and lost 5lbs of body fat since June. Not huge gains but a step in the right direction. I’m making a committment today right now to do whatever it takes to get into the best shape of my life. It’s because of your book and your emails that I’ve been able to stay as focused as I have over the last 5 months. My goal is to be 170lbs one year from today. Thankyou for all that you do.
I agree with you totally. Unfortunately I don’t think I can “officially” join the challenge as I will be recovering from surgery(Nov 17th) during this time. I like to train hard and intense and love a good challange so I will say this, my goal is to not gain weight/fat while I’m recovering and not working out.
Nice article. At last I know I’m not alone. For years, I’ve been doing everything backwards myself.I make sure I workout through out the winter. I don’t have to be part of the “get in shape for summer crowd,…..ever.By being and staying in shape through the winter, I can eat a monstrous mince pie with whipped cream and probably spend an evening slurping eggnog and still bounce back in a few days.In the summer, when the weather gets too hot to workout, I can cut a few corners on my early morning workouts and still look fairly decent in my tee-shirt & jeans. It’s just a matter of planning. :-)Jim
I’ve finally joined the inner circle after “thinking” about it for so long….. I want in on this too.-Debbie
Sound great, I’m in!
Awesome! This is EXACTLY what I needed!!!Perfect timing! Get ready! Get set! Burn baby BURN!!!Thx Tom! :0)
I want to lose weight so much, I will try anything to get it moving. I had lost weight a few years back and lately it is getting harder to lose any more. In fact I am back to yo-yoing, which is no fun. I need more of everything to get moving and less food, fat, weight. Count me in.
Count me in–to be thin! I’m looking forward to tackling this holiday season with the education you’ve been giving me all year long-and applying my new information to what could be the most difficult time of year, diet-wise! Thanks, Tom, for the added inspiration!
Count me in Tom.
Okay, I’ll do it. But I am getting over health problems that I didn’t know I had until I had a crisis (passed out at work in front of my jr. high students), so my goal is to lose 10-20 pounds of fat by New Year’s Eve. And lose 5% body fat. Thank you, Tom. At the very least it will keep me from gaining fat, and will get me back to training again. Happy Holidays, everyone; and never never never give up!!!
I am always up for a challenge! There nothing better to hit your goals than accountability. love it thanks Tom
Tom, I’m in for the challenge! Thanks.-John
Hey Tom, this challenge sounds great! I love the thought of having a goal to stay focused on over the holidays. I find that helps me to maintain motivation for everything. Can’t wait to hear the details!
I’m so excitied! My motivation has been a little low this year and working nights has slowly taken its tole. This is the motivation I need to get back to the basics. I’m going to pull out my book and take it back to the beginning. I’m starting with my goal setting and seeing this one through! Thanks Tom!! :o)
Yay, I’m with all of you…….Need this more than anything…If anyone wants / needs a motivational buddy, like me, then pick me pick me…………..
Hey Tom,Great idea!!! Just wanted to add to what you said about you being able to enjoy the festive table delights. My family and friends think that I’m one of those ‘freaks’ of nature, because whenever they see me at a function or get together, I will have saved up enough calories not eaten during the week to be able to indulge on that particular day, however, they cannot understand how they ‘always’ see me eating normally, and yet I never seem to put on any weight. You can lead a healthy lifestyle and still enjoy ‘normal’ foods – moderation is key, and ensuring that you’re still in a calorie deficit, and to not sabotage what you’ve achieved during the week.
I. Am. In.Bring it on!
Great idea. I am definitely in.
This is a great idea. I am in too. Thanks Tom,
I’m with ya Tom! I too am a person who always gets my goals met during holidays! I gave up on going w/ the crowd years ago! It feels great NEVER STRRTING A JAN w/ a LOSE FAT goal!!!Cant wait!!
Tom I LOVE you!! I lap up every word you write…and today’s is no exception. So sensible, so motivating, so real! Keep it up :-)
I was already starting to stress about the holiday season, hating the fact that all the hard work id done was gonna go out the window over the next few weeks. – This was just what I needed, Im definalty in :DThanks Tom
I am in! This sounds like a great opportunity for all. Thank you for all you do :)
Wonderful and great idea! I’m surely in! :-)Isabella
Count me in, I have not had a very good year, had a blood clot in my right calf and had to take Warfarin for 6 months and was told to limit my excercise, which to me meant sit about and eat,so have gained a lot of weight this year. Really need this challenge to help me get back into shape. Thanks Tom
Thanks a million, Tom! I was also starting to worry about how to handle the holidays. I was planning to continue or even increase my exercise and only splurge on actual holiday meals. Now I will have a great “excuse” to stay completely focused. I am really excited!
I will accept the challenge, but I fear it will be hard for me!
I’m in for the motivation and challenge; I’ve noticed a slip in my determination and activities over the past couple months and do not like the result. Great idea for the Holiday’s Tom.
It´s time for a come back. I´m setting my goals RIGHT NOW.I´m 12% BF at the moment and I will shred 4% BodyFat.My deadline is the 24 December 2009.Happy road to the Holidays everyone!cheers,Ed
I’m in Tom! I already have my eating plan in order through my Weight Watchers program, I have lost 20 lbs over the last 6 months and have NO intention of gaining through the holidays, and have every intention of enjoying my holidays while doing so.Looking forward to the challenge. Can’t wait to shape up even more and lose that last 10 lbs.
“I let my expectations create my reality.” – This is such a powerful phrase. I want to know more.Nic.
I can’t wait to register….I’m in dire need of some REAL motivation.
I’m in Tom! Thanks so much for giving new opportunities for progress…I’ve been stagnating and this is just what I needed. These will be the merriest holidays yet!
Tom,what a great challengeI am certainly in toothankyou for all your inspiration and knowledgelaara
I AM IN TOM, BRING IT ON!
Bring it on. I will rock it out!
I am in Tom, bring it on.
Sounds awesome! I am so in!
It appears I have no choice but to accept the challenge. With all the promotions of your site and newsletter to my patients, it would be quite hypocritical of me NOT to take the plunge. Lost 26 pounds this year already; going for a new record!
Thanks Tom, as always this was fantastic and timely information!John
I’m in! This is just what I need this holiday season! Every year I always gain a few pounds this time of year. I’m determined not to do that this year! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!Ginger
Tom,Thanks for issuing this challenge. I’m so excited to get leaner throughout the holiday season. Let’s do this!Danielle
This is exactly what I have needed. I’m in! I am so excited to do it. And when I saw how many people responded to this it made me feel as though I will have an unbelievable team helping me do this! I really want good health.
I’m in!! Great challenge. Thanks!
I’m in! I need this challenge!
I’m in, Tom! This is just the motivation I need to make the improvements I want. Thank you!Mike
I’m in! I don’t have much left to lose, but there’s lots that could be gained over the holidays and I don’t want that to happen. I’m having skin removal surgery the first week of January and need to be in the best shape I can be.
I’m In! I’ve found BFFM 5 weeks ago. I was 309 with 30%+ Body Fat and trying to become a better strength athlete. I learned about Zig-Zag Nutrition through another website. In my quest for knowledge I found BFFM. I weighed in this morning at 292.2 and my Fold measurement has gone from 42mm to 25mm. I’ve dropped 4 inches around the waist. The transformation is amazing. I’m getting Stronger and the Fat is falling away. Thank you so much Tom for finally Explaining WHY all of the things we’ve heard we should/shouldn’t do are so beneficial/harmful. That is the key for me. I’ve always known most of the things I should or shouldn’t do, but now I know WHY.This contest will give me that extra push to Burn my way through the holidays on my way to my 1st 12 week marker. I am blowing my goal straight out of the water. I am having to adjust it every week or so to keep it a challenge. Thanks again,Matt
To EVERYONE: Thank you for pledging your committment in advance before we’ve even startd the registration – you are ACTION-TAKERS – I love it.This is going to ROCK!Matt: Great head start you got going already, you’re going to ROCK this 50 day Burn! (and beyond)WHO ELSE IS IN?

Bought/read the book years ago, but it wasn’t until this year that I was actually in the right mindset to actually put BFFM to work. Started on August 11th. I’ve lost 40 pounds so far. I don’t have a trainer, but I purposely moved to a new condo a couple years ago, in a sports complex. I literally live steps away from a huge, fully equiped gym so there’s absolutely no excuse for going to work out.Tom,YES! I’m in. I don’t want to reverse (or even stagnate from) the success I’ve achieved, so far. Also, a bit off-topic, but I have to say, staying on BFFM (once you get started), is not difficult. It IS (and this is something I sort of dismissed in the beginning) just a matter of making changes in your life. Yes, it takes some work to plan your meals, and to plan your workouts, but its no different than puttting effort (when you’re not eating healthy) planning what restaurant you’re going to eat at, driving there, picking something from the menu, etc. etc. You’re just shifting the effort to something positive. As far as what I eat now goes, it took some experimenting but I eat very satisfying meals, that are way more appetizing than a lot of the crap I was eating while I was gaining weight. One of my favorites is “creamed” spinach (using non-fat half and half, onions, garlic, nutmeg, reduced cal parmesan, salt), mashed potatos and a lean protein. Compare that with some fried chicken/sides from one of the local fast food places and I’ll take the home cooked version every time. Or how about Camarones al mojo de ajo (shrimp, chipotle, olive oil, garlic, lime juice, a little butter buds, salt) with some spanish rice and whatever veggie I feel like having that day compared to some “mexican food” from the local “taco hell”. No comparison. Just experiment until you find food combinations that you enjoy.John
Count me in! I am OFF the couch and committed to a change of lifestyle :-) I lost 60 pounds a couple of years ago and have collected 20 of them back again… it is SO easy to slide back into the complacent comfortable OLD me… BUT that is not what I want from my life.I am back in charge and I thank you for the incentive!Kay :-)54 years YOUNG…
Me and my husband are in!!! What a fantastic way to get through the holiday glut! I am so ready for this. Can’t wait to get started.
Thanks for setting up such a contest, Tom! The idea of shedding a few pounds before the notorious New Year’s resolution already crossed my mind not so long ago but then just lingered at the back of my consciousness. Now this new motivation and accountability will definitely be a huge plus.I’m in.
Tom,I accept your challenge and looking forward to your emails to help guide me to success.I have started to read your ebook for the 3rd time. I will also continue to use the ebook as reference.Thank you for the motivation and guidence.Isabel P.
I AM IN TOM, BRING IT ON!
Hey Tom,I have been receiving your BFFM info for about a year, and am definitely IN! Ditto for my husband – we’re going on to Hawaii shortly after the holidays and need to stay on track to look great at the beach!
I am taking my life back – I accept the challenge, and I will do whatever it takes. I am scared to death, suffering from severe depression, but one day at a time I will overcome this and be stronger, better and SURVIVE!
I am in, lets get some results.. o/
Awesome challenge here – I totally agree! In fact, at the beginning of August, this was my own personal challenge. I’d been trying to get lean and strong all last year, but didn’t have the knowledge I needed and was doing lots of things wrong, i.e. overtraining and undereating. At the beginning of this year, I found out about you, Tom, and with the stuff I’ve learned on your website and from your book The Body Fat Solution which I ordered and read cover to cover the day I got it, I’ve been making some great progress. Since I started getting it into gear at the end of this previous summer, I decided I’d get in shape for the Holiday Season and keep getting better and better during and after it. And now you write this! Awesome! Now, I don’t have as much to worry about when it comes to the Holiday season as others. I am 19, fairly active, and have a pretty good metabolism. I’ve always had a relatively average build, though last year I got a little too skinny for my liking thanks to me training and eating stupid. However, I’ve never been able to get my abs to show without flexing, and my arms have always been fairly small. But still, even for a person like me, it’s tough to stay on target when surrounded by all these temptations during thanksgiving and Christmas, but this year I will – I’ve made too much progress now to quit already! Thanks for writing this Tom, and everything else you’ve written and the encouragement you keep giving people – it’s awesome! I now live by your motto “Train hard and expect success.” Thanks!
Hello Tom,I am SO excited! I had already made a commitment to myself that I was NOT going to wait until Jan. 1, 2010 to get started. Thus blowing this entire holiday season with my traditional 2 month binge. I was going to start NOW and come Jan. be in full blow momentum. This challenge is just the thing I needed to stay focused when the cookie and candy swaps, holiday parties, big calorie dinners, and punch drinks come my way. Thank you so much!
I AM IN TOM, BRING IT ON!
I am in: I discovered protein shakes on alternate days and it works to keep the weight off. There is always something low cal on the table to eat more of. I have 5 more pounds to lose and your emails have kept me going. Thank you so very much.
Love the book. Love the newsletters. This contest is great! I have always dreaded the holidays for weight gain. This year it will be different. Can’t wait for the details.

I AM IN and I AM VISUALIZING MY WIN !!!! :-)Thanks a million Tom for giving me the information and tools that led to my success. You rock !!!!
FANTASTIC! “I AM IN TOM, BRING IT ON!”
Something I would never thought of doing and I must be nuts to agree, but why not? Yes I’m up for it Tom!
Hi Tom,I believe that the holiday season is a great time to capitalize on strength and lean mass gains the correct way, by properly increasing our caloric intake via clean, nutrient dense foods and training intensely. I made a personal commitment to myself to keep consistent in my training and supportive nutrition. I have found that the holiday season is NOT the best time for me to severly cut carbs and eat a “perfect” diet. I have identified relatively “safe” cheat foods, which are usually raw food bars, dried dates/figs and various trail mixes and nuts.If I am going to indulge in treats, I stick to organic, non-gmo goodies that really satisfy and will not destroy my diet. This is what works for me!!
IN IN IN!
Hi TomThank you for your caringHave a happy holidayPosted by Hanem

Jonathan wroteHi Tom, I’m in. Just curious; are you going to coach us through the 50 days challenge…workouts, diet, etc., or will it be self directed? Thanks much, both for the challenge and BFFM.”The challenge will require self-accountability and self-motivation and self-direction for sure. In addition to that there will be external accountability and support from the group as well as from me… I will be in the holiday challenge forums posting, answering questions, cheering you on every day. And, I do have some “coaching lessons” I will share with all who enter, to make the best transformation possible.
“I live in the Far East, so hope that those of us not in the US will be eligible.”Unless my lawyers say no, the contest will be INTERNATIONAL. FYI: Burn the fat has customers and members in 143 countries!

Yes, Tom. I am in. And thank you for the opportunity to join in. God bless you for helping so many of us when we did not know where to go or where to start.
I’m in! I am looking forward to the comraderie and motivation everyone will bring to the challenge! Here’s to all having a great and healthy holiday season!
I am ready to step it up in my journey…and no better time to do it than now. I will take responsibility for me and not belly up to the constant buffet of goodies available everywhere for the next 7 weeks. I will get my butt off the couch and on the cardio equipment. I will put down the cookie and pick up the medicine ball.I’M IN. BRING IT ON!
Tom,Count me in!!! I’ve already started on my journey to keep it off during the holidays but this is the extra motivation that I needed. Thank you very much for the challenge. I except!
I am ready for this challenge, Tom! I’m in!
Thank you so much for such a motivational write up. I’m glad I finally looked this up. I admit that I was unconsiously ignoring it, as I have been with my health and weight lately… I’ve already got blindsided since Canadian Thanksgiving back in October, in addition to being sick with the flu taking in the comfort of carbs and carelessness.. So happy that I realized this now rather than a month down the road. I lost 40lbs over a year, and it only took this 1 month to stuff 10lbs…. I got knocked down, but am taking this seriously and I am about to kick myself in the a$$ and get up again… :)
I am in!!
I’m in!! This challenge sounds like an awesome way to help through the ho;lidays.
Yes, I’m in! Just found your website, great info and motivation! The gym is always SO empty between Thanksgiving and Christmas! I have always been amazed at how people completely quit doing any exercise whatsoever and eat all that junk at the same time! Your article really hit home for me as most of the people I know have made all of those excuses….and it is hard not to fall right in with them! I have always been able to maintain my weight and fitness level during the holidays, this year I plan to really make some positive changes and get in better shape before Jan 1! Can’t wait to get started!
I am so in!!
Ok i’m in !!! Luckily for me I only have Christmas & new years to contend with as we don’t have thanks giving in Australia!
This challenge sounds fantastic Tom! I’m looking forward to losing fat instead of gaining it over the Christmas period. I’m already preparing my mind and my emotions for it.I’ll be working over the holiday period so there shouldn’t be too many interruptions I can’t deal with!It will be great for all of us to be doing it together and to see everyone get over the finish line!!
It’s a great idea! I’m in also!Italymom
I’M READY TO START THE CHALLENGE. I’M IN
I’m in too tom!!
I am most definatly up to the challange!!!
I say ditto to all of the above!!
I am all over this. Thanks for the idea and opportunity.
My early Christmas present to myself – a year’s membership to the Inner Circle. I’m so excited about this challenge and I can see myself in January, looking and feeling my best ever.I know I’m going to feel fantastic over the holiday season, because that’s how I feel when I eat well and challenge myself in my workouts. When I eat crap and sit around doing nothing, I feel lethargic and unfulfilled. It’s a real no-brainer ;)
Yep! I’m in for sure. Have a birthday coming up and have been struggling with my last 3 kg’s so this will be perfect…..
I’m in….the others can fight it out for second prize!
Yes I am so in, how do I get started.
Yes I am so in, how do I get started.
I am SOOOOOOOoooooo in!!!! i really need to take control, the irony is i am a student dietitian, and my excuse is always that i cant concentrate too much on clean eating when im studying BUT I am just finishing my exams, and its perfect timing!! I AM IN!!
Very keen to take on the challange.
I’m in. this is just what I need, just when I need it.
I’m in I want to look like my fit and toned “before” picture again…not liking the “after having kids” picture!! Recently started training again but I think your challenge will help me get past holiday chocolates and cookies without too much damage LOL!
Thanks, Tom, I’m in as well. I lost 84 pounds using BTFFTM but have slipped and gained 30 back so this will re- motivate me to get back on track & since I’m in winter training for rowing it’s even better.Valerie
Hi Tom,I posted in the Inner Circle as well. This sounds excellent and is perfect timing for a photo shoot date I have scheduled for mid Jan. Thanks again for coming up with this.James
I AM IN TOM, BRING IT ON!!!
This I am going to do. Have burned 30 # of fat in the past year with BFFM but inceneration has slowed down. Time to rev it back up. All other “programs” I’ve done and seen some sucess with, I’ve only been able to stay with for about 10 months — shear willpower. Then the weight floods back on. Taking this challenge will blast me thru that 10 month former roadblock and on to lifelong fitness and health goals.Thank You– this is just in timeMary
I am now taking the challenge….truly. I have not been successful before….it is hard, since I use only 1253 kcal a day, base, and in order to lose I must be starving. Now I will read again the BFFM e-book andtrain hard and expect success, deadline January 1.I will do it privately me and my doctor, so I am accountable to her.Riittak
Count me in. I could use the extra motivation.
Sign me up, Tom! I was just about ready to hire a personal trainer when your e-mail arrived in my inbox! Why hire a trainer ($$$) when I have access to the best of the best — YOU! I am really going to do this and finally get the results I want. Those pesky 10 pounds are going bye-bye. Can’t wait for the next e-mail and info describing the challenge. Thanks Tom — you read my mind :)
TOM: I AM LEAVING ON A 33 DAY CRUISE TO EUROPE ON TUESDAY!!! 11-17-09 BE BACK ON 12-21-09COUNT ME IN!!! PLENTY OF GOOD FOOD, TIME TO EXERCISE AND FOCUS ON THE GOALS!!!!HAPPY HOLIDAYSDAVE W.
Can’t wait. I’m all in !!!
Count me in, Tom. At work, we have a “Maintain or Lose” challenge from Thanksgiving through New Year’s as part of our wellness program. I also take a week’s vacation in Jamaica starting the week after Thanksgiving so being involved in this challenge at work is always in my mind. People think I’m nuts when I tell them that I watch what I eat (somewhat) and work out every day while relaxing on the beach, but the challenge is a great motivator for that. This will bring another level to my normal end-of-the-year activities as I never end up in better shape; I just maintain what I’ve worked hard for before vacation. Can’t wait to start.Tammy
Hi Tom,Well, I purchased your ebook a few months back, and I think it’s brilliant! Am I brilliant though? No, because I haven’t actually followed it through. I’ve read it, written down my goals… and haven’t looked at them since. I haven’t even logged into the Burn the Fat Circle!!!I get your emails and just think “well, he’s not really talking to me specifically”. Which, I now realize is a bunch of crap! And, I deserve to get the results I so desperately want! So, with this challenge, I’ve decided it’s time to make time for me now. I can’t wait for the details and will begin to re-read your ebook immediately. I’m in Canada, so Ihope I am still eligible to enter. Both my partner and I will be entering your challenge. Yay! Thank you for this Tom! As you said, sometimes all we need is a kick in the pants;)before pictures, here we come!!! I’ll be putting the word out to family and friends, to share this amazing journey with :)Joni (Vancouver, B.C.)Joni (Vancouver, B.C.)
Consider me in. I related to the 40 pound gain when I turned 40. The holidays would put me over the top.
I could use some motivation and this could be it. I’m in.
I think a “challenge,” a little healthy competition (with myself) is EXACTLY what I need to stay on track.Count me in to win!
A huge thanks for all the valuable info you share with us!
Hello! I’m wondering how we can prove that we own BFFM. I bought it a couple years ago and not sure if I still have a confirmation code or anything. Let me know!! Can’t wait for the contest!!
Couldn’t have come at a better time. Just what I need to re-focus. I tried on my party outfits the other day & couldn’t squeeze my thighs into anything let alone my butt! Instead of focusing & going back to something that works I went off on a three day binge. Brilliant idea, can’t wait to start.
Count me in…I’m just starting working out again after a bad time in my life and about 4 years off and letting myself totally fall apart. Is it still okay to join?
Hi Im a Maori from New Zealand. I have just completed week 8 of the body 4 life 12 week programme through my gym, and would like to enter this incentive to burn fat..thank you for the invite and also for the knowledge you share…
Count me in, Tom.
This is a great article and really makes a point that is not a big point in losing fat. I will be sure to take the advice to action. Thanks
Accepted – this will hopefully motivate
Have lost 35kg in last 12 onths and 10 kg to go so I’m in… need to look long term at fat loss as losing some muscle over the 55kg I’ve lost all up. That’s why I got your Ebook and also your hard cover book. Thanks.
of course I’m in!!! great idea!!!
Count me in – I have 25 pounds I want to drop by my next BDay (Jun 2010)DaveT
I am definitely going to take this challenge. I had lost 35 pounds last year and when I had that Thanksgiving meal, the spiral to gaining the weight back began. Christmas came then New Years then Easter. Always a time to celebrate with food. I just need to choose health and keep things in moderation. This will be what keeps me motivated. Love Tom Venuto’s golden advice and info. Love BURN THE FAT FEED THE MUSCLE. It rocks!!!!!!
Thanks to The Body Fat Solution I have avoided “dieting” and actually learned how to eat right and exercise. I have already lost 60 LBS and am excited about getting ripped abs. People are astonished to see me eat ice cream (free meal) and keep on losing fat. Over the holidays sounds like a great idea, as I’m on my last ten pounds! So stoked. Bring it!
Awesome Tom! I’m in! Thanks this is a great idea!
I’m just finishing the Lean Eating Program with Precision Nutrition and I was looking for the next step…and here it is!Count me in!
Like you Tom I’m a fitness professional (corporate fitness) and we do succumb to the same temptations it’s soooo true! You just need to be aware that you need to make up for every time you exceed your “norm”. I’m a true believer of everything in moderation and am able to adhere to that … although there are many folks out there that can’t get back on track once they veer off.Looking forward to hearing more about your challenge as I have a fitness challenge of my own planned for our corporate fitness center members! :))))
Tom,As usual it was a great post. I have just lost about 40 pounds and I am about 10 or 12 pounds away from 10% body fat. I am in the hypertropy phase of training so some weight gain over the holidays is expected. Would this holiday program be good for me. Also, I am 56 years old. Thanks !!!!!!
Tom, I am in. Over the past 2 years I lost 60#s. The last 30 #’s I have been following BFFM. Looking forward to cutting the last bit of fat and building some muscle! While I am really enjoying the cardio side of my work outs my weight training efforts so far have been lackluster. I can already imagine how nice that will feel on New Years when the work really starts to pay off.
Excellent! I was successful a few years ago with the BFFM program, but have needed the right motivation to get back on the horse and get myself into shape. I think this challenge will be the added motivation. It really helps me to have a set goal and the 50 day program could be exactly what I need to get me going again! I will definately be signing up for this challenge!
I am ready for this challenge.I have the BFFM ebook and i am ready to devote myself to this challenge.I can’t wait!!!
I’m in, too! And my partner is joining me. We’re going to be a POWER couple! :)
i’m in – Cheers Tom, you are always there when we need you :-)
Count me in! Three weeks ago I started a contest with my husband to see which one of us can loose higher percent of body weight by Jan 17. I had another motivation, in Jan I will turn 42 and I want to be in a much better shape by my birthday! My son (7 years old) was looking at old pictures the other day and yelled out: mom, you used to be hot! I want him to be able to look at me and think I look good…
Yes , I accept the challenge. Thank you for the contest.
I’m in!I have been trying to motivate myself to make this my time. I have recently started re-reading BFFM with the idea to work towards a January goal, and have been slowly taking action. Note the word slowly. This is great timing! I need this motivation and accountability to finally reach my goals after years of thinking about it.And what a great idea to help prevent weight gain and unhealthy habits for everyone! Thanks Tom, count me in :)
Great post Tom!!!For me, I used to gain a lot of weight during the holidays as well, but now, I “bank” calories to consume them during Christmas, New Year. For example, if I was going to a Christmas party, and I know that there will be fried chicken, log cakes etc, I’ll diet over the previous week, but limit myself to a certain number of calories (more than usual) to that particular party. It’ll be a “cheat day” for me. Before the party, I’ll also load up on fruits so that I’ll be bloated. One thing I’ll avoid will be the SUGARED DRINKS (soda, punch, juice etc), because it’s every easy to exceed the allocated calorie intake by drinks alone – and not as satisfying.I’ve not tried the 50 day holiday fitness plan, but I realize that if I want to fit into the pretty party dresses, I’ll diet very much before the holidays so I can wow my family members during the actual celebrations!
I’m in! I want to lose so I can run faster!
Hey Tom!Great post. I am not a member of Burn the Fat inner circle but I WILL take this on as a personal challenge! I cant wait to see what this holiday season has in store for all of us :)
I am in the process of reading your BFFM e-book. I have found it to be spot on accurate. Your views on moderation and tailoring your plan to fit your individual needs makes complete sense. Thanks for a great read and I am on my journey to lose these last few lbs.I am IN on the holiday challenge!!!! I cannot wait to begin and look forward eagerly to the plan details!
Holy Smokes, look at the posts. Yeah, I can’t wait to be part of this party. Count me in.
Count me in! This takes me back to college days when I did exercise breaks during exams and lost weight while everyone else gained.
Put me in coach. I’m ready to play.
Tom, I always enjoy your mail and the BFFM I share with many folks, I lost 50 lbs in one year! which the BFFM was a major contribution. Count me in, Bring it on! I appreciate what you do and look forward meeting you one day.
I am totally in and up for the challenge I am excited to join a challenge that is about the whole picture – daily commitement and mental work. Perfect timing – I lost 52 lbs last year but I want to work on reducing fat and building muscle – not neccessarily weight loss.Karen

I’m in, too. I have a sciatica issue and shoulder issue but i know i still can do something, (if it just to walk a bit more as days or weeks go by). Thank you for caring. I have read your book about a year and half ago and it helped me loose weight even though my body ache (could not do much exercices i wanted to) but you know what, i learned a big lesson, which is that i can eat healthy, less and still feel full and proud of the pounds i’m loosing. Maybe not as fast as everybody out there but IT IS WORKING. And thank you for being patient with my english, i’m french canadian. Good luck to everyone and have a joyous holidays (Joyeuses Fêtes as we say in french) :)

Hi Tom, love the motivation and the idea. Might be just what I need. I’M IN!!! How do I get started?Charlyne
What a difference perspective makes, eh? When you focus on overall health versus whether or not you gain weight/fat, it feels a lot better, like the burden or fear has been lifted and you are free to enjoy the season WHILE having health too.Cool idea Tom!
I’m in!
YES IM IN!!!
I’m in!!
I’m in!!! Largely because last November, when I was in great shape from hooping all summer, I gained like 10 pounds. It may have been less than 10, but it definitely knocked me off the wagon, and I really don’t want that to happen again. I was so healthy during the summer from Hula Hoop Dancing, and I want to improve on that.So count me in!
I’m in on the Challenge.

I’m definitely in.
YEAH, I’M IN !!!
I am in! I started playing roller derby this year, and through this sport have found a confidence in myself that has always been missing. I have been working so hard since I started to get stronger and fitter, and I am proud to say (out loud!) that being healthy is no longer going to be something that I “just get around to”. This new fit and healthy person that I’ve become is who I’ve always wanted and needed to be.Your challenge comes at a perfect time, mainly because I will be out of town for 10 days visiting my family – away from my kitchen, my routines, and especially my teammates who have been so completely supportive and essential for me in this time. So, I AM IN! This is going to be a total blast. ;)
Tom – I’m in! Mark it, dude.
I’m in…but I’ll need to know how to work out in a studio apartment (no gym membership) with houseguests. Would treadmill be good enough for a few days?Diane

I accept the challenge and am going to work hard to burn and achieve personal bests this holiday season.
I’m give it a rip! :)
Count me in!!!
Thanks Tom for a healthy mindset, it is easy to fear ‘over-eating’ at the holidays. It is a matter of priorities and maintaining a healthy perspective. We really don’t have to deprive ourselves to stay on a good note! I am joining you on your challenge! Thanks again, Tom. Healthy Holidays to all.
I am in – perfect timing.
Hi Tom, I’m happy to say I accepted your challenge last year and did succeed in not only keeping the holiday weight off but managed to loose a few pounds in the process! FYI, I also enjoyed attending a number of parties and ate my share of treats…the secret of course is to eat extra healthy at all non-party meals and bump up the work outs. (Hint: if your cardio routine is getting dull, mix it up & try something fun like Zumba for a change of pace). So to sum up… I GLADLY ACCEPT THE 2009 HOLIDAY CHALLENGE!
I am in! Looking forward to hearing more details.Vicki
I. AM. IN!!! This is just the kick in the butt I need to help [re] jump start my fitness and weight-loss goals! Can’t wait to be a part of this!C

I’m in, starting today, I need to drop 20 lbs and tone up. been slacking off the last few months, after a promising romance ended. I would like to loose 10 lbs by Jan 1 instead of gaining! I need to re-read that ebook I downloaded earlier this year and get re-inspired. I am going to do this (the best revenge is to look smookin’ hot)
I am in. From over here in aussieland …. let’s go! I am not classed at overweight, but my body fat percentage is awful. This is my motivation to tone up and get the bikini body I have NEVER had. In time for the summer here too. Bring it on!
Yes, please count me in on the fitness challenge. Perfect time!
I’m in, I need a motivation, I have been making excuses for years, now it’s time to start….I’m nervous about it and excited at the same time…..LET’S THE PARTY BEGIN!!!

Hello Tom,Yes, I am In, Thanks for being there as a beacon for many People who wish to become burners. Before i enter the contest i wish to say this:This contest is not just going to be a mode for me to start Kicking butt of Fat from my body, but also a start at the level of movtivating myself at all spheres of life.We all have our highs and lows, but the last weekend (actually the day i became a BFFM member!) was the day when i hit my lowest level in confidence and in clear logical thinking, but the only logical thinking I did that day and probably for the whole of my life has been to be a BFFM member.I have been following your blog for quite a while and found yours to be brutally honest, being a muscle biologist (well i worked on muscle development in embryos for my phd) i know that a lot of the things youve discussed is well (and in most instances PAINSTAKINGLY) researched. After reading a few pages of the book i think that i should have been a member long back.Current Mood: overwhelmingly nervous, self conscious, low on confidenceFaith: MUST sail through. i am sure i may not just keep from gaining fat this holiday i WILL even lose a lot of fat this season.Reason: I have already started implying the mind set change that was instructed in BFFM as you all already know, and the minute a negative thought surfaces, switch works best for me and i think something positive.More with the contest.I MAY NOT WIN THE PRIZE but am sure i will not lose.Everyone who lose fat will for sure be a winner one way or another. Thanks Tom, You truly rockS

Dear Tom, I need your help.My mom is one of those people who believes excercise makes you gain FAT. I told her it’s not fat, it’s muscle and she said there is no way your diet can work with that many calories and the only proper diet is one that requires less than 1500 calories.I know that if she forces me on this diet, my metabolism will perish. I told her the slowing of the metabolism is why you plateu and she said that you plateau because your body is re-Arranging the fat cells in your body, it’s just a sign you’ve out grown your diet and you need to cut MORE.I told her I want to be able to eat what i want and she said that’s complete bull, you can’t eat regular food and lose weight. She says people like you are why people are obese. Please, please, I’ve tried the metabolism furnace thing and she said I’m so full of shit. She’s so wrong and the worst part is she gets all her fat loss information from the media!!! I hate when people get fat loss information from overweight people because that’s like getting financial advice from a begger!I told her cutting calories will not only cut fat but muscle too and she said no it takes waaaay less effort to burn fat than muscle and I told her muscle is 600 calories and fat is 3500 and she said that may be true but your body still grabs the fat first and I won’t lose any muscle until I lose all the fat. She’s so wrong about everything and she has no clue how wrong she is! Please help me convince her before she kills her metabolism more than she already has!
Please count me in, Tom! Can’t wait to hear more about it!! Thanks! Abi
count me in as well
this gives me more motivation to step it up another level. i’m in!
I am IN!!!
I’m in, Tom! I’m about 15 lbs away from my goal weight I’ve been working towards all year – this will be the perfect tool and incentive to get me there and keep me from letting the holidays interfere with my progress. I love what you had to say about ditching the “either/or” thinking – I know THAT is going to be the key to get me through the holidays without regrets!
Yep this is just what I need to help with some of the lame excuses, lol that I always use around the holidays…Always swearing to start AFTER the holidays….I’M IN…….
Yes I’m in
I’m in. Looking forward to the challenge.
Count me in. Your book has helped me lose 111lbs in about 2 years. I still want to really tone up after the holidays. Thanks again.
I already pledged my commitment – just a thought- I’m a “kiwi” (New Zealander) hope that this will include me too.!!-Debbie (KIWI)
I’m in.I need the help.Subscribed a few years ago.Keep thinking about it but haven’t even read the whole book.Just keep putting it off.HELP ME TOM!
Tom – My husband & I have been working out with a personal trainer since February – we are still with him & I’m really surprised that my husband has lasted this long – he didn’t like weight training when he was in football! I love it. I’m 53 years young & since I’ve lost weight, I am interested in running track again – I ran in college, over 30 years ago. I found out that AARP has senior games every 2 years, so I checked into it & will go to the qualifying meet in June 2010 – if I qualify, great, if I don’t then there is always next time plus there are runs several times a month here in town. I’ve told my trainer that I have never been in such good shape – even when I was running track in college! I do accept & am looking forward to the challenge.
I’m in!!! :)
Count me in! I turn 30 at the end of February and I have vowed to be in the best shape of my life when I reach that milestone, so this just gives me another reason to strive harder.
I’m in, just starting the process of losing and already wondering how I’ll get through the holidays without regaining and continuing to lose. Thanks Tom.

Hi Tom, count me on!
YES,I’M IN!Monika Koltowska
I have been coasting on my weight loss and body fat goals for the last 4 months. Sigh. I kept telling myself that something would motivate me while I continued not to work out. I was also thinking I didn’t want to gain any weight over the winter months. I normally gain 10 lbs over the winter. At 5′ 3″, 10 lbs is a lot.I am looking forward to joining this contest. A vacation is definitely the motivating driver I’ve been waiting for. I can’t wait to feel good about being in my bikini again and having the body I always knew I should have. Let’s get started!!!!!
I’m in!!!!!!!

I’ve never done anything like this before……… but here I go! I AM IN!!
I am in! This is exactly what I need to keep me motivated through the holidays! I was planning on starting this on my own right away, but this is even better:)
“I AM IN TOM, BRING IT ON!”
Hi Tom – I’m definitely up for the challenge. I have spent all of my life overweight – I’m 46 with 5 kids (and a belly for each!). Since April this year I have really made a concerted effort to shift the ‘blubber’ – I was fat at 40 but I want to be fit at 50! Also my eldest son is getting married next year and there’s no better motivation than a slim mother of the bride opposite you in photos!! I also did it for health reasons – I have a knee injury which there is no cure – so I started off training my quads to protect my knee and progressed from there. Now I can enjoy most gym classes and I have a weights programme which I do 2-3 times a week. I use a food diary and keep track of everything I eat and this is a huge help. Given all this effort I am NOT about to sabotage it for the sake of 2 or 3 days holiday! I fully intend to go into 2010 a lot fitter and slightly smaller than I entered 2009! I really enjoy exercise and fitness now which is something I never thought I would say before!! I have also encouraged my two daughters to join the gym with me, in fact one of them is taking GCSE exams in Physical Ed. next year So – in answer to your challenge – I say “BRING IT ON!!”
OK, I’M IN! In 2008 I adopted two beautiful boys age now 3 years 4 months and soon to be 3. While I love my new life, I miss my old one of focusing on just me physically. (As I write the boys are playing very exuberantly and I am finding it hard to focus even on replying here – you can imagine how hard it is to fit in a workout). We have a home gym that was just put in and this is just what I need. My other powerful reason is that we have booked our first tropical holiday as a family for January 10, 2010… I want to be a yummy mummy… I’m not far, just need to harden up. Thanks for the continued emails and pushes. I love them. MM
YES, I’M IN! I’ve never entered an athletic contest before, so even this is a first to me. I’ve gone through the BFFM method before, and it has worked to some extent, however, there’s a lot that I could have done to make it even more effective (like being consistent). Hopefully this contest will do the trick…
Hi Tom. I’M IN! Thank you for this great opportunity, I hope this will change a lot of life’s. I’m gonna be one of them for sure! This is my first challenge I’m in and hopefully the last because I’m sure that after I finish this contest I will be in my best shape of my life!
Hello Tom! An extra motivation to get the efforts up is just the thing that makes the difference.YES,count me IN!!
Tom, I’m in! This is exactly what I needed to get over the hump and become the fittest I can be!Thank you!Eden
yeah I need help, i got the BFFM, and the other book and the last few months I lost 20 pounds that I didnt even want to, cut the carbs too low and went from 180 to less than 160… so not good, Looking too skinny and fats still there… Im gonna really get on this and want to get into the best shape of my life. Go for it you guys, im giving it my all as well
I’m in. Sounds like a great way to have fun and stay healthy. I’m usually one of them that finally just “gives in”. I have also retorn my ACL. I told myself that I would not have the surgery until I was in great shape! This challenge will really help to kick start that goal.
Hi TomI’m in re: the contest. The ebook was great and I can’t wait to apply the principals from the book to transform myself.Catherine
Hi Tom,I couldn’t help it, I have to say it, I cannot keep it in – your response to this challenge is nothing short of PHENOMENAL – I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! You must be absolutely blown away and proud, to be the type of person who invokes this kind of motivation in people – just had to say WELL DONE!! You’re changing the overweight world, one blog at a time!!Bonnie van Niekerk
I appreciate Tom Venuto’s encouragement. I don’t need to go miserable over the Holiday Season. Rather I intend to make time to get in better shape especially as the pre-season has been that busy and full of parties.
I am in Tom….Game On! I have got my copies of The Body Fat Solution and Burn The Fat Feed the Muscle that I am re-reading in preparation of the Holiday Challenge. I will ended this year with a lot less body fat!
I’m in again. I plan to scare myself with my goal (I believe that you once said that your goal should scare you a little). I’m in pretty good shape now but plan to be in the best shape of my entire life when I finish this. After this summer, 7 weeks doesn’t sound too bad. Thank you for having these contests, the last one was the best motivation I’ve had yet.
Yep, I’m in…just waiting for the starting gun.
Let’s do this!!! I am signed up for a half marathon and a 178 mile relay and I need to burn some fat for a productive training. Ready!
I’m in! This is for sure a “first” for me. But what a way to fight off the holiday pounds!! Thanks for the opportunity and great venue to do it in.
Dear Santa Claus,I’ll be needing a bikini for Christmas this year because I’m Taking Tom’s BFFM Holiday Challenge 2010!!!!! I’m going to be in the best shape of my adult life.Tom. Thanks for the motivation and really good information!! See you in the forum.Kelly

Yes, I’m in. I am really getting geared up about this challenge. Thanks.
I will give it a shot. Although, I wont be doing it for any prizes or anything. I’ll be doing it for myself.Train hard everyone.
Tom, I just like you so much more than Jillian Michaels!!I have been iffy about this Holiday Challenge–I have a hard time sticking to things. (Which is why I am where I am.) And the holidays are a hard time to try to lose weight, because there is so much junk around, and because there is so much family around. (And some of my family prefers me to be overweight.)So, can this year be different? Why the hell not?I’m in.Thanks so much, Tom, for your e-book (which I’m re-reading right now) and for your Fitness Challenges!Katherine
I’m in! I have been looking forward to this, I totally failed the summer challenge so I am ready to try again. Let’s go!
