The Master Plan and The Original Secret???
A great American Success story
“I will come to America, which is the country for me.Once here, I will become the greatest bodybuilder inhistory.”
“While I am doing this I will learn perfect Englishand educate myself – but only with those things I needto know. I will get a college degree so I can geta business degree.”
“Simultaneously I will make whatever money possiblefrom bodybuilding and invest it in real estate whereI will make the big money.”
“I will go into the movies as an actor, producer andeventually director. By the time I am 30 I will havestarred in my first movie and I will be a millionaire.”
“I will collect houses, art and automobiles. I will seethe world. Along the way, I will learn to impress peopleand I will hone my mind to outwit all of them.”
“I will marry a glamorous and intelligent wife. By 32,I will have been invited to the white house…”
If you didn’t figure it out yet, this list of achievementsbelongs to none other than the great American SuccessStory – Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Here’s what’s striking about this, and it’s the reasonI’m sharing it with you today.
It looks like this is a biographical sketch of a man sofamous that his first name alone, like Oprah’s, is ahousehold word.
But this is not looking back at history…
This was looking forward to the future!
This was Arnold’s list of goals which he created BEFOREany of these things happened… while he was an unkownbody builder in a small town in Austria.
George Butler, a writer, photographer and film maker, and long time friend of Arnold, said that this visionof the future was not a silly dream, it was a verycalculated “Master Plan.”
“As I remember,” recalled Butler, “It was a campy mixof Nietzschean philosophy and a Soviet Five-year plan. But before I dismissed it as one more weird thing we heardon a California beach (in the 1960’s), we scratched ourheads in awe because Arnold, as we could see with ourown eyes, was actually beginning to make it work.”
Arnold himself said,
“I had a master plan from the moment I arrived in America, that’s still in me. Every year I set a goal. Every year Imake a plan. I do it. It will be done.”
What a testament to the power of goals! Arnold did notsucceed by accident or luck.
No one does.
Success doesn’t just happen to you.
You succeed in your own mind first and then you take actionto turn it into reality.
You create your own future.
A few weeks ago I sent a newsletter urging you and allmy other readers to write down your goals for 2008 aswell as to create a bigger picture “vision” for yourentire life.
If you missed it, read it here:
https://www.burnthefatblog.com/archives/2008/01/
I can’t help being curious.
Did you do it? Did you, like Arnold, create YOUR master plan?
For the year?
For the next 5 years?
For your entire life?
If so, can you articulate your plan with the precision, emotionand clarity in a concise statement the way Arnold did?
Or did you “blow it off?”
I continue to be baffled, year after year after year,at how many people refuse to dedicate the time and effortto set goals, and to learn how to do it well.
This is why I always teach goal setting and mental dynamicsfirst, and only then, nutrition and training 2nd and 3rd.
In the year ahead, in this newsletter, I will be sharing withyou some of the most powerful nutrition and training tacticsI know.
In the next couple of issues, I will be sharing secretsabout how to get rid of the “last 10 lbs” and how to reachextremely low body fat – the look of a fitness magazinecover model or even a bodybuilder – the “six pack abs look.”
In the newsletter issues that follow, I will then be sharing moreinformation on my TRAINING SECRETS than ever before, sinceI have focused so much on nutrition in the past.
But as important as proper nutrition and training are toyour success, the place to begin is always with goal setting.
The FIRST chapter of my program, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle,is dedicated to teaching you how to set goals, in an effectiveand scientific fashion.
The chapter is called:
Goal Setting: How to set powerful, compelling goals that willpropel you forward and charge you up with unstoppable motivation.
If you’ve already set your body and fitness goals for 2008 andfor the long term as well, I applaud you – you are in the top3-5% of the world’s high achievers already, even if you haventyet achieved those goals…
In the original SECRET – the 1956 gold recording and bookletby earl Nightingale (which EVERYONE should hear), Earl gavea fabulous definition of success, and it had nothing to dowith the present condition of your body, your awards andachievements or your bank account balance.
Earl said that a successful person is the one who says,”I’m going to become this” and then works towards that goal.
If you haven’t yet set your fitness and life goals for 2008,then remember Earl’s definition of success and remember thetrue story of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Master Plan
If you haven’t yet read the e-book, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle, you can pick up a copy at www.BurnTheFat.com, and I urgeyou to open the book straight to chapter 1 where you’ll discoverthat setting goals is quite simply, the master skill of success.
Train hard and expect success,

BURN THE FAT SUCCESS STORIES
——————————————–
“For a long time, I always thought of myself as just a “bigframed guy.” I always wore extra large shirts and big coats. But finally, when my weight hit 235 lbs, I decided I had hadenough. That’s when I went searching on the net for somethingto help me lose weight.
Somehow, I came across www.burnthefat.com and I was blownaway by all the testimonials, so I decided to give it a shot.Well as I write this, I have dropped from 235 lbs to 175 lbs!
My body fat dropped from above 25% down to about 14%. I wasin 42-30 dress pants and now I’m fitting comfortably in 34-30.do the math, thats a big change!
I am also in 32-30 jeans across the board (even Levi’s regularfit). I am even going to have to get my high school class ring, that was sized for me in the eleventh grade, taken down so it wont fall of my hand.
The best change of all is that my self confidence, which wasnon-existent before, is now through the roof.
I can’t thank you enough Tom, for this change I have madein my appearance and my life. ”
– David Miller
